This is the first session we meet face to face. This session is for you to get to know me and for me to get to know you and the life situation you are facing. It is my philosophy that the counselor must be a good fit with the client so the client can be understood and receive the best care. If either party does not feel the “fit” is right for whatever reason during the initial consultation I will provide the client with a referral upon request. The fee for the initial consultation is the lowest on my Sliding Fee Scale.

Because I am a small counseling practice and keep my expenses low, I provide all my clients with a Sliding Fee Scale that allows me to work with my clients to ensure the fee is fair and reasonable for us both. The Sliding Fee Scale is based on household income. My rates are also based on a one-hour session. At the initial consultation we will discuss what the counseling fee will be for subsequent sessions and how that fee fits into your budget.
“If you desire to make such a vow but cannot afford to pay the required amount, take the person to the priest. He will determine the amount for you to pay based on what you can afford.” (Leviticus 27:8 NLT)
Benefits of the Sliding Fee Scale
You and I can make therapeutic decisions based on God’s Word without a 3rd party (i.e., insurance company) being involved.
You and I can be led by the Holy Spirit and not under a specific timeline for treatment.
The Sliding Fee Scale is often more affordable than an insurance co-pay. The determined Sliding Fee is set for all sessions going forward and eliminates any possibility of unforeseen costs and/or claim denials. You know what the fee is and pay at time of service.
No records of therapy will exist in the Medical Information Bureau which could potentially compromise your ability to get current or future life, health, disability, or long-term care insurance.
Forms of Payment
I do not take any insurance because as you can imagine that is a rather complicated endeavor these days for small practices. I do accept cash, check, debit, credit, and HSA/FSA (Health Care Spending Account) cards.
